Ally Action Project Week 21: Presidential Cabinet Draft

President-elect Biden has committed to building a government that looks like America and creating an inclusive cabinet. We took the opportunity to suggest cabinet members to help fight systemic racism.
To promote American businesses, we recommend Andrew Yang as the Secretary of Commerce. He can leverage his background in entrepreneurship and running businesses, mixed with a plan for changing the the future of commerce. Stacy Abrams has helped to drive voter registration and housing in Georgia, which would help her in a role with the DNC or Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Pete Buttigieg is our suggestion for Secretary of State. He earns trust everywhere he goes and has an intelligent and measured approach to difficult situations. To help to promote black banks and to implement his 2% plan, we recommend Robert F. Smith as the Secretary of Treasury. Deb Haaland is our recommendation for Secretary of the Interior. She is a member of the Laguna Pueblo tribe and a congresswoman from NM who already works with the House Natural Resources Committee. We suggest Jane Elliott for Secretary of Education. Her strong views of equality would be a radical change for school curriculum. Tammy Duckworth is our recommendation for Secretary of Veterans Affairs. LTC Duckworth is a retired army helicopter pilot, and as a double amputee, she is familiar with returning veterans needs. Finally, Sally Yates is our choice for the Attorney General. She is an experienced leader in the DOJ and was fired in 2017 for standing up to Trump on his illegal travel ban after only 10 days in office.
We would like to see some new representation in this cabinet appointments, though if a Senate majority is not available, the opposition could add difficulty.
